our colleague for the new Nasty Savage album (Jeopardy Room) did a long interview with Ron Galletti
Ron, long time and former guitarist Dave Austin left the band in 2022, what kind of reasons did lead to his departure?
David was just tired and wanted to stop playing. He left on good terms
By the way, did he contribute in writing the new songs?
We did have the 7th finger before he left so he may have had a part in that song some and Witches Sabbath was from the demo tape Fred and I actually write that one. So No not really
It seems, you parted ways on a friendly term, correct?
Yes Dave is 100% class and has a wicked project DNA is coming out with 4 sons soon. He came to my house today to watch the Bucs game and we cooked steaks.
How about these days the some of the past members? I mean, Ben, Fred, Dezső, Curtis and Rob Proctor?
Curtis is in the hospital with a ongoing trouble from a tumor. He is fighting and we all pray for him. Fred lives in Turkey. Ban does solos shows weekly in bars and clubs laying all kinds of music Dezo is a teacher Rob no idea what he is up to.
Bassist Kyle Sokol joined the band this year, how did he get in the picture? Was he the the band’s immediately/first choice?
James Murphy gave me his # and after he went over to jam with Pete we knew he was our guy. Awesome dude great player
From what I know, you performed 31/8 at the Rage of Armageddon show in New York (organized by Ed Farshtey former editor of the The Book of Armageddon fanzine), what do you recall of this gig? How were you welcomed by the fans?
We headline and kicked ass ! NYC crowds are always sick and it was intense. Ed is 1st class 100% a great guy and great promoter. Love that guy. The show was awesome it’s always great to play for metal fans who know
Did you already play any tunes from the new album?
Yes we played Jeopardy Room and the 6th Finger
When did you start working on the new songs? How did you put the songs together?
We had about 6 months or so to get it all done. Pete wroth 4 Dave wrote 4. I wrote the lyrics and song titles. we had 6th Finger and added the new Witches Sabbath.
What can you tell us about the recording sessions? Where was the album recorded and how did you go with the recording’s process?
Morrisound Recording w Jim Morris is a master not only engendering by also as a producer. We had a small budget so we had to work hard smart and fast. 8 sessions got it done.
How do you view, that Psycho Psycho was somewhat of an underwhelming release, but the new record more than makes up for it?
Sorry brother I disagree.
Psycho Psycho is a bad ass album it was over looked because of 0 promotion. Did I say ZERO ? Listen again with the monster Richard Bateman on bass Ben Dave and Curtis. There are very great songs on that album. Take the 13 steps to the 13th pyramid and u will find Dementia 13 !
20 years later you are now locked inside the Jeopardy Room.
The music definitely lives up to all the big expectations…
This is the sound, that the band’s fans want to hear: glinting full strength power metal fused with beefy, burly thrash encased in muscular riffs, pounding bass, drums and your unique vocals, isn’t it?
It’s Nasty Savage 2024 !!!
Fresh new real in your face where it needs to be. I’m very proud of this record and the guys who played recorded and wrote it. Ck it out let us know. # nastysavagemetalknights group #nastysavagewageofmayhem

Do you think, that the songwriting on this album is anything but simple because the song structures are very complex and well put together with its dynamics?
The rythem will set you free dig deep listen loud and lock yourself into the room. The Jeopardy Room each song will take you on a trip.
Brain Washer was the first single, would you say, that it describe the album as a whole or did you manage to make a varied album?
Brain Washer will erace your brain it’s unique and heavy and I love it. „I tried to be free but the humans have got me ” they will get you too ….each song has its own identity listed loud and find out !
How did John and Donald Tardy end up performing in the cult classic Witches Sabbath?
I made a call and they were happy to do it. It changed a classic into a epic. Love those guys and we also honor Fred Dregichan who i wrote the song with 40 years ago. Bringing it back to life was a must.
Did their contribution give more of a punch to the song?
HELL YES ! Im.hoping their fans will check out Jeopardy Room and find it accessible to thrash headbangers and learn from about 90s old school metal from Brandon Florida where it all began. Total respect to John and Donald Tardy and DTs drumming and Johns vocals are amazing.
Whose idea was to dig out/”to cover” this cult tune, that appeared on the legendary Wage of Mayhem demo back in the day and never made on any Nasty Savage albums previously?
I will give you 1 guess . A master plan from day one and already it brings back so many memories for so many fans but with a super new twist
Do you agree with that, you didn’t simply resort to nostalgia; the album boasts modern brutality, epitomised by tracks, such as Southern Fried Homicide or Aztec Elegance?
Get inside the Jeopardy Room and you may not leave. Listen loud and even louder ! The production is clear and equalized the songs are pure powerful in your face each one will take you on a trip ! This new chapter is exciting and brutal with style and grace.
I think so, that Sainted Devil here and there is reminiscent of Unchained Angel…
Not sure about that but it’s another cool song on this slab that you need to have in your hands. ” he’s hated and jaded living in peril not you angel it’s the sainted devil „
Can be the overall progression of the album easily described as „the further it goes, the heavier it gets”?
Hell yes it can and it’s 2024 we couldn’t go back to the past so we could only control our future and the now. These guys are shredders who shred. Over all Classic historic and ready for every metal head to hear and judge for themselves. Hell yes !
Is the abstract artwork a clear reference to old classics Indulgence and Abstract Reality?
Of course it is ! That was the plan to associate with the past to bring it back to make people remember where we came from where it began. Indulgence Lp Abstract Reality EP Wage of Mayhem EP Penetration Point Lp all VanDercar paintings here in 2024 I needed more and there it is.
The album was released by German FHM Records, how were you picked up by the label?
My friend Frank owns the label and he is a fan who loves NS. He has a house in Cape Coral Fl and rides a Harley like me. We ride around Florida and I know cool roads to Ride. One ride he stayed at my house and we rode in the morning and at lunch we did the deal. I was able to tell the guys we have a record deal and get ready to rock !
Did you sign a long-term contract? Are they 100% behind the man, considering tour support, advertising in magazines etc.?
FHM is a small independent lable but he believed in NS without hearing a song ahe trusted us to deliver. It’s a 1 record deal as we have to prove ourself that we can still be relevant and gain new fans who don’t even know NS. It’s exciting and we owe this comeback to FHM. Support him and get Jeopardy Room
What about your future plans? How about shows and tours?
Everything is on the table the future is now. Get on the bus and take a ride with us were going to the old school !

We are hungry to play in Hungry !!! Promoters contact us and let us come play to great metal fans in Hungry ! It’s metal music that brings us together and that’s a beautiful thing !
Ron, thanks a lot for your answers, what are your closing words?
